Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Electrical Engineer at Advanced Aircraft Company in Hampton, Virginia. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for electrical design, power distribution, power systems, and embedded software engineering, including: Design and own the product development roadmap for the electrical systems on our next generation HAMR UAS Lead Electrical and Software Engineering Projects at AAC Technically proficient to personally perform electrical and embedded software tasks. Qualifications Electrical Design and Electrical Engineering skills Proficiency in Power Distribution and Power Systems Experience with hardware and software integration Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams Knowledge of aviation regulations and guidelines 10+ years of work experience Bachelor's degree in EE, SE, CE, CS, or equivalent UAS Experience Experienced with writing system requirements Embedded software development experience on the STMicroelectronics STM32 Microprocessor Experienced with electronic communication interface standards such as: SPI, I2C, RS232 Serial, TTL Serial, SBUS, DroneCAN, and Ethernet Experienced GitHub user Experienced with printed circuit board (PCB) design, assembly and repair Experienced with wire harness design, assembly and repair Experienced with reviewing and evaluating 3rd party ICDs and documentation to determine integration suitability Experienced with integrating vendor’s electronic equipment and software A propensity for and experience with ‘hands on’ electrical and electronic product/prototype soldering, wiring, PCB repairs/modification, and mechanical assembly Excellent verbal and written communication skills Work on-site at AAC’s Offices in Hampton, VA Desired Personal Characteristics US Military Veteran Proactive and positive attitude Good research and documentation skills Able to work in a small and fast paced environment Able to travel as needed (usually less than 1 trip per month) Owns their own drone and flies it for enjoyment Seniority level
