Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering or related STEM discipline.

Experience with and knowledge of System Safety analyses, standards, and tools.

Experience leading projects and teams.

Job Description You will be a Staff Engineer for the Fighter System Safety Team. Your responsibilities include:

Performing Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), System Safety Analysis (SSA), Software Hazard Analysis (SWHA), and other safety analysis methodology.

Conducting risk assessments and trade studies needed to evaluate and optimize design choices and recommend appropriate controls to mitigate safety hazards.

Interfacing and coordinating system safety activities with design teams, suppliers, internal management and external customers.

Establishing software safety requirements in accordance with the appropriate standard and evaluating the functional impacts of noncompliance in coordination with design SMEs.

Desired Skills

F-16 Engineering Experience

Knowledge of MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-516, ARP-4761, and/or ARP-4754

Knowledge of FAA and military regulations and processes

Familiarity with implementing a Software Safety Program or Software System Safety experience

Military or civilian flight experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with communicating cross-functionally
