Sierra Nevada Corporation . Your pay will be based on your skills and experience. The role is fundamental to designing, evaluating, and certifying cutting‑edge aerospace and space exploration products and systems.

Base Pay Range $113,428 – $155,964 per year

Responsibilities

Provide analysis and feedback on design development.

Show compliance to structural airworthiness regulations.

Document analysis and airworthiness in technical reports for review by airworthiness authorities.

Review technical reports from other organizations or teams.

Evaluate non‑conforming installations and/or repairs for acceptability.

Manage structural engineering tasking across programs and team members.

Provide airframe structural engineering mentorship to early career engineers.

Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10+ years of relevant experience.

Higher education may substitute for relevant experience.

Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices.

Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.

Ability to work in multi‑disciplinary design and development teams.

Advanced knowledge of static and/or dynamic analyses.

Ability to obtain and maintain United States Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Commercial Derivative Aircraft and/or Supplemental Type Certificate programs.

Experience in engineering simulation using finite element structural analysis (FEA) tools such as MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, or ANSYS.

Experience performing fatigue and damage tolerance analysis using tools such as NASGRO or AFGROW.

Ability to perform classical analysis using industry standard hand calculation methods.

Knowledge of industry‑standard mechanical design principles, including parametric design, model‑based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing and production processes.

Ability to author substantiation reports.

Background in the aerospace and defense industry.
