Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters/alternators, engine electronics, diesel systems, transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc. Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment and systems; inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using diagnostic tools. Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and verify proper operation. Identify problems, assess information, and generate/evaluate solutions with sound judgment. Independently manage parts inventory and operate the company-issued service truck; perform periodic reconciliation. Maintain and operate the service vehicle with safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections. Communicate with clients and management to assess needs, provide information or assistance, and resolve issues. Manage concurrent tasks, prioritize work, and allocate time effectively. Use hand tools, precision instruments, DIESEL tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks. Document work according to company standards and upload photos of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders using an iOS device and TRAIT application. Accurately complete DOT forms and other required documentation in a timely fashion. Work with a high degree of independence and manage daily schedule; maintain productivity within standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for repairs. Communicate with management and support teams to obtain approvals on repair estimates, PO numbers, and RO findings. Perform all work in compliance with safety, health and environmental policies, and regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT). Maintain company-issued service truck and perform safety checks and daily pre/post trip inspections. Requirements
High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience; or alternative combinations such as higher-level degree/certification in a related discipline; or 5 years’ related experience. Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties. Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months. Must meet DOT/FMCSA regulations; able to complete and pass a DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment. A valid DOT medical card with sufficient validity may be substituted as noted. Minimum age 21 due to interstate operating authority; valid driver’s license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File. Certifications
