Overview
Senior Designer – Decorative Accessories. You will design and develop products consistent with seasonal trends and concepts, and customer/business needs. Under the leadership of senior team members, you will own the development process for each product from sketch to approval. You will design and manage products for the Decorative Accessories categories, including vases, trays, jewelry boxes, sculpture, wall art, garden, baskets, candlelight, and home scent for all channels. You will support the buying group’s design and development needs. You will identify key trends, build seasonal concepts, collaborate on design presentations to senior management, and ensure all product development deadlines and key calendar dates are met. Responsibilities
Through clear understanding of design vision and business objectives, guide the design and development process from initial concept through approval. This includes: Gather relevant inspiration references based on design direction Research market for new product ideas and competitive set Create design renders, orthographic specs and comment forms that are clear and concise for overseas vendors Lead design presentations Assist with setup and styling of seasonal product presentations Manage decision making daily for functional categories Correspond with internal product development teams and overseas vendors to develop products Partner with merchandising teams to guide designs through to the assortment stage Drive workflow to the calendar to ensure all deadlines and key dates are met Recommend effective processes and procedures to improve workflow and results Travel as needed to factories and buying shows domestically and internationally Reporting to Head Design Manager Qualifications
Minimum 5 years professional experience in related field required; home hardlines preferred Degree in design or equivalent experience Experience with drafting and ability to quickly review and comment on drawings Knowledge of 3D modeling and rendering Proficient with Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Outlook This role requires being onsite in the Dumbo Brooklyn office Culture & Benefits
