The Plant Maintenance Reliability Engineer ensures the reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant equipment by implementing maintenance strategies, minimizing downtime, and optimizing processes. This role drives continuous improvement, resolves complex equipment issues, and supports the plant’s operational and economic goals while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

Provide engineering expertise and technical support for the maintenance, reliability, and optimization of plant equipment and systems to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs to improve equipment performance and reduce unplanned downtime. Analyze MRO usage data, OEM recommended spares, and equipment failures to optimize MRO stocking levels of spare parts. Analyze equipment performance data and failure modes to identify opportunities for improving product supply reliability and implementing corrective actions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and engineering, to ensure seamless integration of reliability initiatives with manufacturing operations while maximizing economic performance of the plant. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to equipment safety and maintenance standards. Optimize maintenance processes to maximize equipment uptime, minimize operating costs, and meet production objectives. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of equipment failures to identify underlying issues and implement solutions to prevent recurrence. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment maintenance to ensure consistent and safe operations. Lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve technical issues related to plant systems and equipment, utilizing advanced mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Perform predictive and preventive maintenance tasks using techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis to monitor equipment health. Design and implement upgrades or modifications to plant equipment to improve reliability, efficiency, and safety. Manage and support the implementation of new technologies, such as condition monitoring systems, to enhance equipment reliability and performance. Provide training and guidance to maintenance personnel and operators, promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Prepare and present reports on equipment reliability, maintenance performance, and improvement initiatives to management. Provide leadership in problem solving and technical expertise to ensure timely resolution of short-term process and equipment issues and higher-level troubleshooting. Designs and/or specifies new equipment or modifies existing equipment to continuously improve process performance. Coordinate installation, debugging, and initial operation of new equipment and systems. Work Hours

Standard Hours (Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm) Managing a 24/7 plant structure, occasional off-hour support when needed. Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in plant maintenance, reliability engineering, or related roles, with expertise in reliability-centered maintenance strategies. Proven experience in industrial maintenance engineering, with a focus on complex systems supporting manufacturing operations. Advanced mechanical aptitude and technical skills related to plant equipment and system operations. Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles, predictive maintenance technologies, and asset management practices. Relevant certifications such as Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar are highly desirable. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and implement effective solutions. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams. Proficiency in using engineering software and tools related to reliability and maintenance. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Required Skills

Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles, equipment failure analysis, and maintenance practices. Familiarity with predictive and preventive maintenance techniques, including vibration analysis, thermography, and lubrication management. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and interact with internal teams, consultants, and external stakeholders. Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze how reliability performance impacts the financial performance of the manufacturing facility. Soft Skills

This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The salary range for this position is $96,723.00 - $132,995.00, dependent on factors such as location, experience, and education.
