Job Overview
We are looking for a
Manager, Production
for our manufacturing operations at
Vestas . This role is focused on overseeing night‑shift production to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.
Responsibilities
Ensure safety is the top priority, monitoring and completing safety guidelines and action items.
Oversee day‑to‑day production operations, establish priorities, and optimize resources to meet the daily production plan.
Review production and operating reports, resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to minimize costs and operational delays.
Identify and recommend investment projects for machinery, tools, and equipment.
Manage quality, safety, health, and environmental responsibilities, supporting continuous improvement in QSE efforts.
Track production performance KPIs, compile and report results on the departmental KPI board.
Prepare and manage department budget, implement cost‑saving measures.
Provide regular performance feedback to subordinates, develop their skills, and focus on reducing direct labor per unit.
Ensure employee competencies are current and sufficient for future demands.
Follow policies and procedures, supporting organization goals and values.
Meet Cost of Quality (COQ) goals, optimize quality metrics, and achieve continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations.
Manage inventory to minimize floor stock shortages.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Create 3‑ to 5‑year strategies for growth, innovation, and capability improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
6+ years of progressive leadership experience, including 3+ years managing large production teams (200+ employees preferred).
Extensive background in manufacturing or industrial operations – wind, automotive, aerospace, or heavy equipment is a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S, and root cause analysis.
Proficient in budget management, resource planning, and KPI tracking.
Strong communication, coaching, and team development skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and SAP or other production systems.
Competencies
Effective leadership and communication, with the ability to motivate large teams.
Engaged approach with solid decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems.
