Scope The Manufacturing Engineer IV position requires a strong background in aerospace manufacturing with a major emphasis on mechanical and electro‑mechanical components and assemblies. Responsibilities include driving product and process changes to reduce cost, cycle time, inventory, and improve quality and delivery; implementing continuous improvement to increase productivity and providing technical support for numerous production and developmental programs.
Responsibilities
Design manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products, and related fixtures and tooling to achieve zero defect level and low product cost.
Provide technical support in troubleshooting existing manufacturing processes and/or product lines to achieve customer quality standards and profit objectives.
Assist in optimizing manufacturing efficiency and quality standards through improvement of processes, materials, methods, and facilities.
Review design and contracting production for new product launches.
Provide technical input for process definition, material performance, and product cell layout to ensure manufacturing feasibility.
Conduct manufacturing feasibility studies.
Support production to ensure products are built to specifications and engineering documents.
Provide feedback to improve product design for ease of manufacturing, optimize cost, and reduce time to manufacture.
Prepare engineering changes to support manufacturing and quality of parts produced.
Design and deploy tooling to aid manufacturing processes.
Ensure standardization and compliance to engineering, customer, and company specifications for processes used in interior product production.
Perform engineering analyses and problem‑solving to support new product development and sustaining production; execute root cause analysis and corrective action for out‑of‑control parts and processes.
Identify and implement new equipment, tool designs, and processes to improve consistency, accuracy, and cycle times.
Interface directly with assemblers, production supervisors, leads, and management on a routine basis.
Apply Lean Manufacturing principles.
Plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication, tooling, and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
Coordinate with suppliers and external resources to develop and implement new processes and improve existing ones.
Skills & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
7–8+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
Ability to read and decipher drawings and procedures, including GD&T.
Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and use of machinery, including programming of NC machines.
Knowledge of materials and metal processing, including heat treat and coatings for aerospace requirements.
Basic measurement and inspection skills.
Experience in creating Manufacturing Planning for product realization.
Experience with MIL‑STD documents, reading and interpreting ASME Y14.5.
Ability to write engineering reports including analysis and results.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
CAD experience in CATIA or Pro‑E a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Fluency in English (written and verbal).
