Under indirect supervision, perform all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation and archiving of general and all general ultrasound images. Care for the patient while in the ultrasound department. Perform portable US exams based on provider order and/or patient condition. Position patients and select appropriate protocol to demonstrate anatomy of the area of interest based on accepted General US principles. Judge diagnostic quality of finished images and process preliminary reports and/or worksheets prior to submission to physician for interpretation. Identify and document any limitations to the sonography examination. Customize each patient exam to optimize diagnostic value. Apply independent judgment during the exam to ensure appropriate anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions are accurately captured. Assist radiologist with US-guided procedures (e.g., biopsies or aspirations) as needed. Review diagnostic ultrasound requests for appropriateness based on clinical information. Communicate questionable orders to the ordering provider and escalate unresolved concerns to the interpreting physician for final approval. Provide relevant patient history and/or codes for ultrasound procedures as required by facility. Perform clerical responsibilities related to acquisition, processing and archiving of patient records. Explain diagnostic procedures to patients and answer questions as appropriate. Monitor patient status in ultrasound; intervene or contact primary caregivers as needed. Identify and address problems; report critical occurrences to the next level of authority. Maintain continuing education and applicable certifications as an ultrasound technologist. Ensure equipment conformance to operating standards, including ultrasound equipment and related devices as applicable. What You Will Need

Must be a High School or GED Diploma Graduate. Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology, vascular or cardiovascular ultrasound program, or BS in Ultrasound. Registry Eligible through ARDMS or ARRT. Registry required within one year of employment. Minimum 1 year of experience preferred. Pay Range
