Schedule Details/Additional Information: This position will assist the RTTs, may have QA responsibilities

Education/Experience:

Currently in the second year of the Forsyth Technical Community College's Radiation Therapy Program One year of training in the Forsyth Technical Community College's Radiation Therapy Program

Certification: Certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation

Essential Functions

Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.

Prepares linear accelerators and radiation therapy equipment effectively and efficiently while under the supervision and/or direction of staff therapists and supervisors.

Adheres to radiation exposure regulations and practices to ensure adequate radiation protection.

Ensures accurate patient records via correct data entry, validation and archival of images.

Provides age-developmentally appropriate care in accordance with Age-Developmental Specific Guidelines for the age groups served when participating in patient care.

Skills

Able to communicate on a professional level with physicians, nurses and other ancillary professional staff when discussing treatments and patient care.

Clinical skills to enable recognition and to function accordingly in relation to prioritizing of patient needs.

Adaptable to changing work schedules.
