As a Billing Specialist, you will ensure accurate and timely processing of all billing functions. Review and prepare insurance claims, verify patient eligibility, and ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, workers’ compensation, and other payer requirements. Handle claim edits, resolve denials or rejections, and submit appeals with proper documentation; maintain records of claim activity and accounts receivable. Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and internal staff; apply knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems. Stay current on billing regulations and HIPAA compliance; prepare reports as needed and support program operations (including urinalysis monitoring) in adherence to agency policies and procedures. Experience with billing software, claim submission platforms, and medical terminology (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) Ability to manage record-keeping systems, learn new databases, and accurately type and proof work Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills Professionalism in both phone and in-person interactions; ability to communicate with diverse populations and handle challenging or hostile situations with patience Next steps
