Overview
Our client is a manufacturer of specialty engineering materials used in multiple different industries. They seek an Engineering Manager for their plant in Toledo, OH. The ideal candidate should enjoy being out in the plant and getting involved in the technical aspects of the process. This person should be a strong leader that enjoys developing their team and mentoring young engineers.
Responsibilities
Capital Project Management:
Assist the Plant Manager in the preparation of capital Investment Requests by determining the best equipment design and/or facility layout, developing specifications, bid drawings, and ensuring that the project meets environmental, safety, production and maintenance requirements. Upon project approval, purchase and expedite materials, equipment, and services. Ensure that projects are implemented according to the specification in a safe and timely manner with minimal disruption to plant activities.
Manage Maintenance Department:
Assign, direct, and evaluate the work of the Maintenance Dept. Ensure all KPI’s are met consistently. Oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence. Ensure maintenance employees are trained, understand/stay engaged in all plant safety systems, processes, and initiatives. Manage maintenance repairs, employee workload, work order system, and spare parts inventory. Actively maintain equipment performance statistics including mean time between failures and creating, managing, and implementing preventative and predictive maintenance plans. Engage PMC-2000 as the tool for assisting the management of the maintenance/preventative maintenance program. Maintain Mechanical Integrity program.
Safety/PSM:
Responsible/accountable for execution and compliance of the PSM process at the site. Provide input on safety modifications to the plant systems.
Qualifications
Mid-Senior level experience in engineering management, preferably in chemical/engineering materials/manufacturing environment.
