We are seeking a
Plant Engineering Manager
for our
Toledo, OH
location. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for specifications and design of plant facilities, controls and equipment to achieve the desired results in a cost-efficient manner while enhancing environment, safety, quality, and long-term profitability of the facility.
What You’ll Do
The Plant Engineering Manager is the owner and accountable for all plant assets; responsible for controlling, tracking and reporting spending of the capital budget and the maintenance
Function as a project manager for capital projects
Communicates with internal and external customers to ensure project plans and work in progress will meet desired outcomes
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards
Supervises all resources in the maintenance
Analyzes and plans maintenance work force utilization, predictive/preventative maintenance, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
Provide technical advice on plant operations and improvements. Prepares engineering analysis of projects that includes preliminary design, detailed design, project cost analysis, life cycle cost analysis and equipment selection
Develop, evaluate and improve the manufacturing controls and automation utilizing knowledge of instrumentation, controls & automation, product design, materials, chemicals, and production equipment capabilities
Leverage automation and controls to eliminate ergonomic concerns
Leverage automation and controls to institutionalize consistencies in production

To be successful, you will need
S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
5-10+ years plant maintenance/engineering/project engineering experience in chemical or paper manufacturing
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
Programmable Logic Control, Distributive Process Controls Systems (DeltaV), HMI and Automation control systems
AB RS Logix 5/500/5000, Control Logix, Powerflex drive, HMI/SCADA, I-Fix, ParcView and DeltaV Batch
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated record of leadership, teamwork, adaptability, innovation and initiative
Ability to work well with all levels of personnel throughout the facility and the company
Ability to operate safely in a manufacturing environment; this may include, but is not limited to potentially lifting up to 20 lbs., standing for extended periods of time, bending, crouching, stooping, rotating, climbing stairs, or any combination of the aforementioned
Preferred
Experience in TPM, 6 Sigma, Lean, 5S
Registered as a Professional Engineer
Experience in PSM program implementation and maintenance
