Telephone Control Specialist
to join our team in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

DoD Secret Clearance required
Non‑remote (relocation incentive available)
The
Telephone Control Specialist
will support mission‑critical personnel at the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Chemical Biological Center (DEVCOM). The Specialist will provide voice and data communications support for DEVCOM and its tenants, ensuring reliable connectivity across classified and unclassified networks. They will work with stakeholders to maintain mission‑critical communication infrastructure and capabilities.
Job Responsibilities
Manages and troubleshoots services such as dial tone, DSN, ISDN, VoIP, Voicemail, Conference Bridging, and long‑haul circuits.
Supports Government Emergency Telecommunications Service (GETS) and other secure communication requirements.
Continuously monitors systems, identifies potential problems, and uses diagnostic tools to analyze and resolve hardware and software issues.
Maintains accurate records of system configurations, equipment inventory, network diagrams, and work performed.
Provides technical assistance and training to end‑users.
Schedules and oversees the installation, configuration, and repair of telephone systems and related hardware.
Enforces organizational policies related to telecommunications usage, including security standards and data protection; monitors for unauthorized use and supports audits or reviews as needed.
Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance.
Two (2+) years of voice/data systems experience.
Familiarity with managing, configuring, and troubleshooting telephone systems, including VoIP, PBX, and analog systems.
Ability to maintain accurate inventories of telephone equipment, track service requests, and manage user accounts and access permissions.
Understanding of network infrastructure related to telephony, including IP addressing, cabling, and connectivity between devices and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
DoD Secret Clearance
BA/BS in computer science or information technology.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
Problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Salary Range $55,000 - $70,000
