This role involves independent work under the supervision of the Engineer of Record for a given project and managing the structural team’s engineering and drafting tasks. The project manager will serve as the primary conduit for project coordination within the structural team and with other disciplines, architecture, MEP, etc., and will oversee the Construction Administration Phase, including review of shop drawings, RFIs, site visits, and OAC meetings as needed. Participate in coordination meetings with other disciplines and design review meetings with supervisors, clients, and owners. Attend work sessions with owner-client agencies to discuss scope of work and our structural design methodology. Coordinate the design and documentation required to complete construction documents on a given project schedule and within budget. Author and maintain structural specifications, select construction procedures, determine materials and member sizes, and complete all necessary calculations for proper design. Review shop drawings, handle RFIs, change proposal requests, and change orders, and incorporate changes into project documents. Communicate design and coordination items to project team members and author defensible engineering reports, memos, and emails. Provide site observations and write reports based on site walks or observations. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with structural emphasis; Master’s degree preferred. Structural Engineering license (S.E.) in the state of residence, if applicable. Minimum 5+ years of full-time progressive structural engineering experience. Three or more years of experience in multi-discipline project team leadership preferred. For California positions, experience with the California Division of the State Architects (DSA) is highly desired. Strong understanding of state building codes and design codes including ASCE, AISC, ACI, MSJC, NDS, etc. Proficiency in structural engineering tools such as ETABS, SAFE, RISA, RAM, ENERCALC, Excel, Bluebeam, etc. Proficiency in designing materials including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood. The actual offered base salary for California locations will vary based on factors such as qualifications, education, experience, skills, work location, and internal equity. The compensation package may include discretionary bonuses in addition to base salary and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
