Trade Compliance Specialist - Amtec Staffing
Location: Kent, WA (ONSITE)
Shift: 6:30 AM Start (Mon-Fri)
Assignment: 6-12 month temporary, conversion to FTE possible
Base pay: $32.00/hr - $47.00/hr
Summary Looking for someone with experience in logistics and documentation involved in international import and export shipments of U.S. export-controlled goods (subject to EAR and ITAR licensing) at a manufacturing site. Responsible for implementing appropriate work procedures and compliance with federal, customs, and local regulations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage import and export clearance processes, including accurate shipping documentation and customs declarations.
Serve as central point of contact for export and import customs transactions at the manufacturing site.
Interface with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other parties to ensure compliance with procedures and regulations.
Prepare and maintain export and import documentation.
Submit Electronic Export Information (EEI) and use the ACE portal for export transactions; monitor shipments and resolve issues.
Manage import and export license utilization, decrement, and closures.
Collaborate with customs brokers for timely clearance of imported goods.
Assist Trade Compliance Officer in determining jurisdiction and classifications for goods and technologies, including HTS, USML, and ECCN, and develop classification decision rationale.
Support the MRO team by issuing MRO and coordinating shipments of 9801 US goods returns.
Accurately maintain import and export related transaction records and logs.
Conduct timely audit of customs entries (7501) for correctness.
Qualifications, Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related discipline.
Strong understanding of U.S. import/export regulations and operations; experience classifying items such as HTS, Schedule B, and ECCN from top level assemblies to component levels.
Prior experience submitting Electronic Export Information (EEI) to ACE portal.
Well organized, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently to meet on‑time delivery goals.
Knowledge of other government agencies such as FDA, EAR, ITAR, OFAC.
Experience in record‑keeping requirements, rules, and regulations.
Computer proficient—Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Effective communication skills—both oral and written.
Eligibility
Must be eligible to obtain a DoD security clearance.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
