Overview
Assistant Director of Outreach and Engagement, Workforce Development – Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3); Salary: $63,000 - $65,000. Binghamton University is a premier public R1 research institution in the SUNY system. The role focuses on building strategic partnerships, expanding community outreach, and promoting education and career pathways to prospective adult learners. The position is part of the Office of Workforce Development and requires representing the Office across campus and at events, conferences, and meetings. Responsibilities
Cultivate collaborative relationships with industry, educational, nonprofit, and government partners at local, state, and national levels. Assist adult learners in identifying their educational and career needs, interests, and goals, and address barriers to completion and employment. Engage with former Binghamton University students who stopped out and provide pathways to reenroll and complete their bachelor\'s degree. Assist with the development of adult learner recruitment and retention plans, strategies, and written materials (marketing, admissions, and program leads). Identify grant and funding opportunities and assist with grant writing to support pathways to employment in targeted high-demand fields. Monitor workforce engagement activities and outcomes and prepare reports for stakeholders. Respond to inquiries from and communicate with stakeholders in a professional and timely manner. Communicate and enforce University and SUNY policies, regulations, procedures, and operations. Represent the Office of Workforce Development at events, conferences, and meetings in a professional and ethical manner. Requirements
Bachelor\'s degree (or higher) A minimum of five (5) years of experience with building industry partnerships and/or community outreach and engagement, or a similar role Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Preferred
Master\'s Degree Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with adult learners (e.g., older than 24, married or with children, working adults, first-generation college students, previously attended college but did not finish, or did not receive a standard high school diploma) Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
