Product Manager - In-store Payment – Remote-First

The European Payments Initiative (EPI) is here to change all that, forever. With Wero, our digital wallet, we make sending and receiving money simple, seamless and secure across France, Belgium and Germany, with more countries and omnichannel solutions coming soon. Supported by 14 major banks and the two largest European acquirers, EPI is building a new, proudly European payment system: easy, instant and transparent, all for the greater good. What’s in it for you We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Manager to lead a crucial new project from scratch for EPI. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in product management, particularly within the fintech or payments industry. You will be responsible for setting and communicating a compelling product vision, managing the strategic roadmap, and ensuring alignment with company objectives. About the team You will be part of a Pan-European Product and Engineering team that operates in an Agile environment. You’ll work closely, and fully remotely with experts in Product Management, Product Design, Web Dev, Mobile Dev, Backend Dev, QA and DevOps from Germany, France, the Netherlands, and other European locations. Your impact Demonstrated ability to define and communicate a compelling product vision aligned with company goals Develop and manage a strategic roadmap for our in-store payment initiative, including key milestones, features, and long-term enhancements Prioritize product features based on ROI, user needs, and market trends, with a clear understanding of how product decisions impact business metrics Stay ahead of industry trends, conduct competitor analysis, and leverage user feedback and data-driven research to continuously optimize product performance Provide regular updates to the Head of Product on the current status of the in-store payment product development cycle Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, designers, marketing, sales, and customer support, to translate insights into actionable development tasks and ensure successful in-store payment product delivery Make informed trade-offs between technical constraints and product features, ensuring alignment between engineering capabilities and product vision Engage with EPI’s member banks to align on the strategic roadmap and explore future development opportunities for in-store payment Represent EPI and advocate for its interests in the in-store payment domain with both internal and external stakeholders Qualifications 10+ years of experience in product management, ideally within fintech or the payments industry Strong customer-centric mindset with a passion for delivering outstanding user experiences Fluent in English (CEFR level C1 or C2); additional European languages such as French, German, or Dutch are a plus Proven experience with digital wallet and in-store payment product development, essential for shaping and prioritizing the Wero in-store payment strategy and managing the product backlog Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and experience managing iterative development cycles Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to executives, banks, and cross-functional teams Comfortable working in a fully remote, multicultural environment Knowledge of the payments industry, including regulatory requirements and security standards, is a strong advantage Experience with contactless payments or digitized cards is a plus Recruitment steps A first call with one of our recruiters An interview with one of our Product Manager An interview with our Engineering Manager A final interview with our Head of Product Management Hopefully, an offer you can’t refuse Turn back if … You do not have experience with digital wallet payment product You don\'t have a deep technical understanding and only counting on the technical counterpart Otherwise apply!
