Processing Specialist job description (refined)
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
This position is responsible for all utility, processing (pasteurization) and CIP equipment within the facility, including but not limited to boilers, cooling towers, refrigeration systems, pasteurizers, and heat exchangers (plate and frame, tubular). Operate all utility, processing and CIP equipment within the facility to operational specifications. Monitor all utility, processing and CIP equipment within the facility for adherence to operational specifications, through digital or handwritten logs. Perform all CIP/SIP needs for all plant equipment. Perform all sanitation needs for utility equipment. Perform basic troubleshooting of utility, processing and CIP equipment (e.g., clearing alarms/faults, inspecting equipment parts for damage, inspecting product/medium flow path for contamination, blockages or failures). Perform basic equipment preventative maintenance for utility, processing, and CIP equipment (e.g., lubricating/greasing mechanical parts, changing air filters, re-filling automated lubing systems, replacing gaskets). Responsible for food safety fundamentals and reporting non-conformances to employees who have the authority to make corrections. Comply with all plant quality and operational safety policies, including GMPs, SSOPs, SOPs, and PPE. Perform all other duties as assigned by plant management. General Competencies

Must frequently handle, install, position, or move materials/equipment and use abdominal and lower back muscles to support parts of the body repeatedly. May frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Work Environment
Environment may include multiple temperature ranges from 34°F to 100°F. Noise levels can be moderate to high. Work area may involve pipes that are hot (>100°F) and exposure to cleaning chemicals (caustics and acids). Seniority level
