Senior Survey Project Manager – Charlotte, NC Bowman has an opportunity for a Senior Survey Project Manager to join our team in Charlotte, NC. Apply administrative, technical, and managerial techniques to assigned projects to ensure successful and timely completion within the allocated budget. Responsibilities
Leadership and Direction
Receive guidance from senior management on objectives and policy matters; oversee people and processes to ensure effective execution; review staff work for quality assurance.
Operational and Company Level
Assist with marketing the firm’s capabilities to establish new clients and strengthen relationships with existing clients. Coordinate with internal departments to meet project requirements. Stay informed of new methods and developments; recommend new practices or shift program emphasis as needed. Represent the organization and liaise with related individuals and organizations.
Do the Work
Manage competing demands and set priorities for staff. Meet with prospective clients, prepare proposals, and establish budgets and schedules. Maintain close liaison with clients to resolve project questions (technical, completion, billing, etc.). Oversee surveying activities, review project changes, contract alterations, and additional work requests impacting staffing or budget. Supervise survey personnel to meet high professional standards. Coordinate with internal departments to meet project requirements. Define the scope of multiple, complex projects and develop plans to accomplish land survey work; monitor progress toward deliverables. Compile project status reports; review cost sheets and prepare monthly billings; ensure projects stay within budget. Collect outstanding payments from clients. Participate in marketing presentations and meetings; secure repeat business and identify new clients. Supervise Project Managers when needed.

Ability to work independently or in a team; motivated with strong problem-solving skills. Effective verbal and written communication; strong work ethic and commitment to quality. Self-reliance with limited direction; strong marketing and business development mindset. Commitment to profitability and growth; collaboration within the broader organization; understanding of financial reports and metrics. Ability to interpret municipal codes and regulations for Plat preparation and approval.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in land surveying or related field preferred. Professional Land Surveying registration; licensed surveyor in relevant state. Ten or more years of land surveying or related experience, including at least two years of project management. Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Carlson; ability to manage multiple projects and teams. Experience in marketing and business development; ability to drive profitability and growth. Experience managing a Survey Department is preferred.
