Overview
Our client, a large chemical company, has an immediate opening for a Plant Manager at their cutting-edge manufacturing facility in NV. The Plant Manager oversees activities within the production department including Plant Operations, Production Planning, Process Improvements, Maintenance, Quality and Safety. The Plant Manager directs production operations including the activity of Engineers, Production Operators, Supervisors, Foremen and other plant personnel. Responsibilities
Manages and develops production team comprising department managers and staff members who lead and perform production functions on a day-to-day basis. Works collaboratively and efficiently with other business functions involving Quality, Scheduling and other business needs. Plans production operations in accordance with production schedules, establishing and evaluating priorities and procedures for continuous process improvement while assuring a safe work environment for all employees by enforcing all safety rules and procedures. Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems, ensuring minimum costs and preventing operational delays. Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data. Inspects plant equipment, ensuring optimal performance and utilization. Communicates with maintenance department when equipment requires service or repair. Develops and evaluates production standards and processes including ISO 9001. Observes workers, ensuring process and standards compliance. Ensures applicable documentation and recording-keeping. Develops and executes methods, ensuring minimal downtime, minimizing changeovers, and reducing waste. Oversees housekeeping activities related to the production area. Manage and development of area supervisors and operations engineers, and hold them accountable for day-to-day and technical leadership of each operating unit. Monitor and ensure all aspects of PSM are fulfilled. Development of continuous improvement including scheduling and implementation of projects, turnarounds and upgrades. Sets daily/weekly priorities of the area. Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Previous experience working in a Chemical Plant or Refinery. Previous experience working with all levels of the organization – Operations, Technology, Maintenance, Projects and Safety. Proven experience of working 75% on proactive task. Seniority level
