Civil Project Manager/Senior Civil Project Manager - Transportation

candidate for our

Transportation Design Group

located in our

Raleigh, NC

office location.

Overview The Project Manager is responsible for the successful management of assigned projects and the development of strong client relationships. The Project Manager will also participate in marketing and business development, ensure technical quality, profitability, schedule adherence, staff coordination, client communications, negotiating scopes and fees, billing and fee collection when required, and client follow-up maintenance. The role requires maintaining superior relationships with clients and cross-selling Timmons Group services when applicable, with ongoing communication to the Office Manager and Transportation Group Leader. The ability to manage several mid-sized projects, multiple small projects, or a single larger project concurrently is required.

Responsibilities

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful management of assigned projects and the development of strong client relationships.

Responsible for marketing and business development, technical quality, profitability, schedule, project staff coordination, client communications, negotiating scopes and fees, billing and assistance in collection of fees when required, client follow-up maintenance.

Maintain superior relationships with each client and cross-sell Timmons Group services; direct ongoing communications with the Office Manager and Transportation Group Leader are essential.

Manage several mid-sized projects, multiple small projects, or a single larger project simultaneously.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering and/or equivalent work experience.

Professional registration (P.E., L.S., etc.) in one or more states where Timmons Group conducts business is preferred.

8 to 10 years of experience in roadway design, traffic and transportation engineering, including projects for local Departments of Transportation (DOTs).

Thorough understanding of project accounting and demonstrated ability to manage the schedule and budget for multiple projects.

Experience in marketing and supervision of the technical work of others.

Working knowledge of technical and office software required to perform the essential functions of the position.

Professional attitude towards clients and internal staff; effective communication; willingness to help others meet deadlines.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
