Job Description: The Assistant Director of Student Organizations and Greek Life plays a key role In enhancing student Involvement, leadership development, and the co-curricular experience. This position provides oversight, advising, and strategic support for registered student organizations (RSOs), fraternity and sorority life (FSL), and major engagement initiatives. The coordinator fosters a vibrant campus community by ensuring programs are inclusive, educational, and aligned with the institution’s mission and values. Essential Duties Summary:
Serve as the primary advisor to a portfolio of registered student organizations, including training and leadership development. Coordinate the student organization registration, renewal, and recognition process. Manage the student organization management system, Presence. Organize leadership workshops, retreats, and annual student leader training programs. Develop and implement policies and procedures that support student organization operations. Advise fraternity and sorority governing councils (e.g., IFC, NPC, NPHC, MGC). Assist In the development and enforcement of policies and risk management protocols for FSL organizations. Coordinate leadership development programs, community service Initiatives, and educational workshops related to FSL. Oversee recruitment/Intake processes and provide ongoing support to chapter leaders. Serve as a liaison between campus partners and national fraternity/sorority headquarters. Support large-scale student engagement events (e.g., Involvement fairs, welcome week, Greek Week). Monitor budgets, process payments, and ensure compliance with university fiscal policies. Collect and analyze program assessment data to Improve services and engagement outcomes. Participate in divisional or institutional committees. Serve in a student support role during crisis response or conduct issues, as needed. Represent the department at campus events and orientation programs. % FTE:

$64,197.37-$81,851.64 Education:
Required: Master’s degree in student Affairs’, Higher Education Administration, or a related field. The degree must be from an accredited institution. Required Licensing/Certification:
None Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of: Understanding of student learning, engagement, identity development, and leadership theory (e.g., Astin, Chickering, Tinto. Familiarity with fraternity/sorority governance structures (e.g., IFC, NPHC, Panhellenic), risk management, recruitment/Intake processes, and national organization policies. Knowledge of how to coordinate student-led events, manage budgets, assess learning outcomes, and comply with campus protocols.
Skilled in:
Ability to design, Implement, and assess leadership development programs, educational workshops, and campus-wide events. Strong verbal and written communication for engaging students, advisors, alumni, and campus/community partners. Effective in medlating disputes, advising student leaders, and managing crises within student organizatlons or Greek Life communitles. Skill In managing program budgets, tracking expenditures, and seeking co-sponsorship or grant opportunitles. Ability to use surveys and other assessment tools to evaluate program Impact and guide Improvements.
Ability to:
Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, faculty, alumni, and national organization representatives. Ability to supervise student staff or peer educators; delegate tasks, and provide leadership development. Capacity to handle student information and Incidents with discretion, especially related to conduct or mental health. Ability to work in a fast-paced, student-driven environment, often with evening and weekend commitments. Work Experience:
Required: 2-3 years of experience in student engagement, leadership development, or fraternity/sorority Life. Strong organizational, Interpersonal, and communication skills. Experience with student organization platforms and event planning.
Preferred:
Anti-hazing policy training and enforcement Crisis response and behavioral Intervention basics Title IX and Clery Act training Budgeting and financial systems used for student organizations FERPA compliance Microsoft Office /Google Workspace tools Incident reporting tools (e.g., Maxlent) Program assessment and evaluation Learning outcome development and measurement Data collection methods (surveys, focus groups, etc.) Working/Environmental Conditions:
