Job Title: Tasting Room Lead

Reports To: Tasting Room Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As a Tasting Room Lead, you are the face of Rodney Strong Wine Estates, entrusted with creating an elevated, memorable, and seamless guest experience that reflects the luxury and heritage of our brand. You will embody the art of hospitality by welcoming guests with warmth, guiding them through curated wine tastings, and weaving the story of our estate into every interaction. With a passion for service and an eye for detail, you will ensure that every guest leaves with a sense of connection, delight, and discovery. Exhibits leadership with ability to train and motivate staff to ensure customer service, merchandising and operational standards are upheld Demonstrated success in a guest-facing leadership role using strong communication, multitasking, and team-building skills. Foster a culture of accountability, learning and fun while also training new staff members. Perform hospitality functions in the tasting room, greet all guests, provide tasting and wine education Welcome guests with genuine warmth, anticipating their needs and providing a tasting journey that highlights the artistry of our wines. A genuine 'people person' who effortlessly puts the customer's needs first. Flexibility and ability to manage constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm Conduct consumer and VIP tours of various group sizes. Encourage and complete on-site retail sales of wine and gift items. Promote Wine Club memberships to guests and process club sign-ups. Assist tasting room/hospitality managers, events managers, and other staff with special projects and events as needed. Assist with monthly inventories Assist with outreach, off-site tastings and winery events as needed Perform various duties such as washing and stocking glasses, dusting, stocking wine and gift items, completing general clean-up of all areas throughout the day. Promote and maintain a safe work environment including strict adherence to all company safety rules and regulations Provide day-to-day guidance to ensure that staff operates according to standards for professional guest service and that the Company policies and procedures are followed by all staff members Perform tasting room opening and closing procedures Required Skills & Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Advanced Wine knowledge and previous winery experience required Strong computer literacy across multiple platforms: Microsoft Office and Wine Direct/ C7 systems a plus Ability to multi-task in a rapid and fast paced environment including problem solving and analytical skills Flexible schedule for extended hours and weekend work Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs Must be at least 21 years of age Physical Demands / Work Environment
This job requires working in both indoor, outdoor, cold and warm environments. You will be standing for long periods of time, as well as other physical demands as listed below.
