Location: Pearl Harbor, HI Hourly Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician - This position is contingent upon the award of a contract. Clearance Type: Secret Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Carpentry:
Build, repair, paint, alter, and install wooden articles and structures. Construct and install window frames, door frames, interior walls, floors, ceilings, closets, counters, shelves, casing, wood foundations, and similar structures. Plans and lays out work from blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions. Determines work sequence, materials, and tools to be used. Proficient in using common carpentry hand and power tools, industrial woodworking equipment, and standard measuring tools. Electrical:
Locate, trace circuits, reset breakers, replace light bulbs and ballasts. Proficient with voltmeters, ammeters, multimeters. Plumbing:
Assemble, install, and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, faucets. Use hand and power tools of the plumbing trade. HVAC:
Knowledge of basic operations of mechanical systems like chill water, hot water, heat pumps, air handling units, and condensing/evaporating units. Ability to locate sources and determine causes of malfunctions. Perform project site visits, prepare scopes of work, select tools, equipment, and materials, prepare cost and quantity estimates, and maintain organized workspaces and project records. Perform duties of Building Monitor as per NAVFAC Hawaii policy (training provided). Conduct regular walkthroughs of facilities to identify deficiencies for repair or submit Work Requests. Must have working knowledge of electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC systems and principles. Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience. Ability to lift supplies and equipment weighing up to 85 lbs. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate government vehicles. Proficiency in PC operation and Microsoft Office applications. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Accurate data entry into databases. Additional Details
