Essential Functions

Lead RFQ/RFP strategy, proposal development, and technical submissions

Collaborate with Alternative Delivery group management, Business Development and Design Management to select design consultants and JV partners

Develop conceptual budgets and detailed cost estimates; manage risk registers

Conduct site evaluations with SMEs and estimators

Collaborate with design management to align scope with budget and schedule

Navigate permitting processes and coordinate with regulatory agencies

Identify and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers, including exclusive agreements

Develop and manage project schedules and critical path analysis

Review and negotiate owner contracts with legal counsel

Lead client communications and maintain satisfaction throughout procurement

Project planning, scheduling and coordination of large-scale projects

Assemble key personnel for the project

Represent Griffith Company and lead projects with a “project first” mindset

Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in line with company policies

Assist in reviewing and negotiating contracts and change orders; liaise with executive management as appropriate.

Provide positive safety and quality control management to the project

Prepare and negotiate time-related overhead

Manage the preparation of change orders and claims

Review all major correspondence prepared by project team prior to submission to the Owner.

Maintain accurate forecasting and management of budgets

Managing subcontractors and project team (subordinates)

Provide support and technical advice to project personnel to resolve problems proactively.

Oversee document control and coordination of subcontractors

Anticipate project needs with sufficient lead-time to avoid delay of production

Mentor and manage Project Engineers, Project Managers and Interns as assigned.

Take an active role in managing owner relationships and business development.

Education

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree would be preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience. Professional Engineer licenses desired.

Experience

25+ years of construction experience

10+ years of alternative delivery project experience

5+ years in preconstruction and estimating for alternative delivery projects

10+ years in operations and project management of large-scale ($100M+) civil projects

Proven experience in strategic planning, risk management, and people leadership

Familiarity with agencies such as USACE, LA Metro and Caltrans

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills And Ability

Must have a strong knowledge of Alternative Delivery Projects

Must have a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills

Excellent writing, presentation, and computer skills

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Must be proficient in identifying changes on projects

Knowledge of public contract code

An understanding of production is required

Must be proficient in project projections

Must have a thorough understanding of estimating

Must have an understanding of time impact analysis and time related overhead

Must understand critical path and tracking project delays

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Frequently required to sit for extended periods of time

Must frequently lift and move up to 20 pounds.

Annual Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000.

Relocation assistance will be provided to candidates outside of the local area on a case-by-case basis.
