The ADON is accountable for assisting the DON in directing the activities of licensed and non-licensed personnel to ensure the delivery of quality care to residents. The ADON oversees, facilitates, and manages occupational health and staff development functions within the facility alongside and in the absence of a Clinical Educator. The occupational health element includes infection control, coordinating the employee injury management process, health programs for healthcare workers, and resident/employee safety. The ADON is responsible for surveillance, maintaining records, data collection, and assessment, evaluation of Incident Reports, and reporting to the Safety Committee, Infection Control Committee, and Quality Assessment/Assurance Committee. The ADON also facilitates staff development through orientation, hands-on training, competency evaluations, preceptorships, and audits. Resident Care: Support the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, and supervising nursing and health care services, ensuring consistent delivery of care and promotion of resident rights; acts as Director in their absence. Staff Development and Education: Coordinate orientation, training, leadership programs, and competency evaluations; manage employee education records and facilitate in-house education sessions and clinical student scheduling. Safety and Compliance Management: Oversee safety programs including Injury Management, Employee Right-To-Know, AWAIR, Continuous Quality Improvement, and infection control initiatives; participate in related policy development. General Duties and Flexibility: Perform additional assigned tasks, accept flexible hours for education and orientation, participate in resident/family engagement activities, and may work as a staff nurse if needed. Workplace and Confidentiality Standards: Promote a positive, inclusive workplace with strong customer service, maintain resident confidentiality, and respect the privacy of health data. Regulatory Compliance and Continuous Improvement: Adhere to Continuous Quality Improvement programs, attend relevant education and meetings, stay current with Minnesota Department of Health regulations, and uphold the Residents’ Bill of Rights. Qualifications
Licensure and Knowledge:
Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in Minnesota with knowledge and interest in safety, infection prevention, disaster preparedness, and teaching staff. Skills and Flexibility:
Basic computer skills (or willingness to learn), flexibility in working hours, ability to work independently, and perform essential job functions with or without accommodation. Experience and Resilience:
Preferred experience in healthcare or skilled nursing; ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to feedback, and maintain composure under pressure. Interpersonal and Communication Abilities:
Strong emotional intelligence, ability to build trust, active listening, clear verbal and written English communication, and comfort working with diverse populations in a fast-paced environment. About Monarch
