Mechanical Design Engineer
to join its growing engineering team. For over 40 years, this company has been a leader in a specialized sector of the plastics industry, designing and building custom, high-performance equipment for clients across automotive, packaging, and other industries. Responsibilities
Design custom machinery and components from concept to completion Specify motors, gearboxes, bearings, and shafts based on performance requirements Create and revise complex 3D models and detailed drawings in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Develop and manage accurate bills of materials (BOMs) Collaborate closely with manufacturing, sales, and vendors to ensure designs meet quality and performance standards Modify existing designs for new applications or improved performance Participate in occasional customer meetings to review technical requirements and solutions Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related technical field) 3–5+ years of mechanical design experience, ideally with an OEM Proven ability to design motors, gearboxes, bearings, and shafts to precise specifications Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor Experience creating BOMs and technical documentation for manufacturing Strong communicator who can work independently with minimal supervision Stable work history and long-term career mindset Nice to Have
Experience in thermoforming machinery design or plastics industry equipment Start Date
