KCI Engineering Consultants is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer to perform technical work in support of Nuclear Power Plant projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Calculations including: pipe sizing, pipe thickness, pump sizing, control valve sizing, heat exchanger sizing, atm. tank sizing, vibration, seismic, etc. Develop Block Flow Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams (including heat and mass balance), and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams. Design analysis for mechanical systems. Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) for structural and thermal simulations. Software applications: AFT Fathom, AutoCAD, AutoPIPE, CFD, GOTHIC, Pipe-Flo, PIPESTRESS, SolidWorks, and others. Preferred knowledge and experience
Nuclear power plant components and systems. Design, development and delivery of design modification packages, and projects for nuclear power plants. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Experience - at least 2 years’ professional industry experience (position based upon experience). Optimal Qualifications Advanced technical degree or related coursework. Professional Engineer Registration (within IL, PA, and others is ideal). Solid understanding of codes and standards applicable to industrial design including but not limited to: ASME, API, and others. Essential functions
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Follow through with all tasks and assignments in a timely manner. Proven strong analytical skills including the ability to solve problems. Team player mentality with a desire to contribute to the overall success of a project. Benefits and Compensation
