Autonomous Vehicle Service Technician/Mechanic

to repair, maintain, and retrofit our fleet of Electric Autonomous Vehicles (EV/AV). The ideal candidate is an experienced and eager technician with a growth mindset, looking to propel their career in a dynamic and cutting-edge industry. $40.00/hr - $48.00/hr Compensation

Competitive hourly pay; paid weekly, every Friday! $40-48/hr based on experience We’re hiring

2 technicians Shift Options Sunday - Thursday 6:00am-2:30pm Tuesday - Saturday 6:00am-2:30pm

Responsibilities

Assist technician team with service and repair of electrical, mechanical, and integration issues on autonomous vehicles and their equipment Perform software and firmware updates Follow processes and document potential improvements and issues Collaborate with internal engineering and service teams to troubleshoot and diagnose issues Create repair orders, document work performed, state diagnosis, procedure performed, and parts required Create issue tickets with engineering teams and follow up on open issues to resolve Perform work with safety as a top priority Participate in continuing education and training Assist with fleet-wide hardware and software retrofits

Qualifications

4 - 8 years of experience working on cars (brakes, advanced suspension, alignment, electrical repair and diagnosis, software/firmware updates, diagnose nuanced mechanical, electrical, and A/C systems. Complex HW retrofits and AV HW replacement, diagnostic on nuanced AV and EV systems) Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, automotive shop equipment Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and software components and understanding of how they interact Strong computer skills and ability to pick up new technology Impeccable communication skills Learning mindset and openness to constructive feedback Emphasis on safety and quality of work Clear verbal and written directives Ability to perform regular physical work up to 50 pounds Ability to juggle numerous projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment High attention to detail A plus: experience with sensors/calibration and/or the autonomous automotive field Dealership training and automotive experience Experience with Linux, Java, Python, C++, Jira, Confluence, G-Suite, and Slack is a plus ASE certifications

Working conditions

Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing duties Exposure to dust, diesel fumes, and noise Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases, or other irritants Access to all areas of equipment or vehicles to perform maintenance Ability to move and position heavy objects Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and crawl to repair vehicles Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
