Position Purpose Exceptional opportunity for a Registered Nurse to support our vision and serve as a compassionate and transformative healing presence in our community. The RN will work collaboratively with IHA Hematology Oncology Associates in the 14-chair infusion center at Chelsea Hospital, providing outpatient care follow-up and administration of chemotherapy, as well as other infusion services.

Responsibilities

Perform nursing assessments of the patient’s physical, psychosocial, and cognitive status considering age and development level.

Formulate and document individualized plans of care in collaboration with the patient, family, and health care team.

Demonstrate excellent IV skills and manage venous access devices such as PIC lines and ports.

Implement patient care appropriate to the patient’s age, plan of care, and changing needs.

Document patient care per hospital and department standards.

Evaluate patient care needs, prioritize, and direct nursing care to deliver quality care.

Supervise care provided by unlicensed assistive personnel under RN direction.

Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Problem solve and manage crises, adapting quickly to a rapidly changing environment.

Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques.

Observe patient, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisor or physician of changes.

Take vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure) to detect deviations and assess condition of patient.

Shift Available Days (8am-4:30pm)

Status Available Flex/contingent (not benefit eligible)

Required Qualifications

Minimum of three shifts per month required

Current Michigan Nursing License

Graduation from accredited nursing program

Experience administering chemotherapy required

Experience using EPIC preferred

New hires must have a BSN degree or agree in writing to obtain BSN within five years
