Job Overview
Flex RN, Chelsea Infusion Center – part‑time day shift – 8am‑4:30pm – primary responsibilities include outpatient care follow‑up and chemotherapy administration in the 14‑chair infusion center at Chelsea Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
Performs nursing assessments of the patient’s physical, psychosocial and cognitive status.
Formulates and documents individualized plans of care developed with the patient, family and health care team members.
Demonstrates excellent IV skills and the ability to manage/maintain venous access devices such as PIC lines and ports.
Implements patient care in a manner consistent with the patient’s age, the plan of care and the changing needs of the patient.
Documents patient care according to hospital and department standards.
Evaluates patient care needs, determines priorities and directs nursing care as required for the delivery of quality patient care.
Supervises the care provided by unlicensed assistive personnel under the direction of the registered nurse.
Experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Able to problem solve and manage crisis, adapt quickly to a rapidly changing patient care environment.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum of three shifts per month required.
Current Michigan Nursing License.
Graduation from accredited nursing program.
Experience administering chemotherapy required.
Experience using EPIC preferred.
New hires must have a BSN degree or agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five years.
Shift & Compensation Pay: $34.77–48.32 per hour based on licensed nursing experience + applicable shift premiums (for afternoons, overnights and weekends).
Shift Availability: Part‑time day shift 8am–4:30pm.
Status: Flex/contingent (not benefit eligible).
