TITLE:
Clinician – Residential Programs (DYS Provider)
REPORTS TO:
Clinical Coordinator
Job Summary
The Clinician is responsible for ensuring that proper casework services are provided to the residents and that all clinical services are consistent with the operating policies of the Old Colony Y, Early Education and Care, Department of Youth Services, and other regulatory agencies. S/he will reflect and display the character development core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Program/Department Responsibilities
Ensure that an intake screening (suicide/safety assessment) is completed for each new intake to the program. Provide weekly clinical case management meetings to members and complete required Department of Youth Service (DYS) clinical progress notes. Develop an individual service plan for each resident which includes education, health, social, psychological and psychiatric services, and cognitive, behavioral, individual, group and family therapy, and medical/dental care (routine, ongoing, and emergency services). Assess and monitor all clients on suicide watch in conjunction with the Clinical Coordinator. Consult with Emergency Services Mobile Crisis Team when necessary. Working with the Clinical Coordinator, oversee the medical component as it relates to medication, physicals, doctor appointments, and medication counts. Research and develop connections to community resources: including, but not limited to, employment opportunities and workforce training agencies in the community, educational programs, volunteer centers, and recreational activities. Support YCAs (Youth Care Advocates) as mentors to the residents of the program. Provide training opportunities for YCAs in the areas of mental health, life skills, and asset coaching. Become trained in areas of Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Plan and oversee the delivery of DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) skills and clinical groups to all residents. Assist YCA’s in planning weekly and monthly program activities. Ensure that all program records and member files are accurate and up-to-date, including assisting with audit preparation, weekly filing, and requesting records from DYS. Attend all trainings as scheduled. Maintain weekly scheduling and coordination of visits/appointments for all residents. Communicate these with program staff and medical staff as needed. Assist with security of unit as needed; i.e. monitor hallways, assist residents during meals/activities and monitor front desk area. Respond as a mandated reported when necessary. Complete 51A filings and follow-up assessments. Assist with the volunteer and internship programs as necessary. Adhere to all fiscal policies regarding petty cash, vouchers, and purchase orders.

Education/Experience/Physical Requirements
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field. Some experience working with adolescent/youth population. Skills and capabilities to use a computer. Maintain the security and confidentiality of program and clients. Work a flexible schedule. Must be able to drive clients if needed - valid driver’s license, and approved driving record. Must be able to walk, sit, and stand during the workday.
