Overview
The CT Technologist role at UC San Diego Health offers the opportunity to work in a national ranked academic medical center with exposure to advanced imaging technology and high-acuity cases. Responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients, operating CT equipment, adjusting scanning parameters, ensuring patient safety and comfort, reviewing image quality, and maintaining accurate records. Strong communication with radiologists, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams is essential.
Responsibilities
Prepare and position patients for CT imaging;
Operate CT equipment and adjust scanning parameters to obtain high-quality, low-dose scans;
Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures;
Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain accurate documentation;
Collaborate with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams; communicate procedures to patients effectively.
Qualifications
Graduation from a school of radiologic technology;
California Radiology Technologist of Radiography (CRT-R);
Registered Technologist for Computed Tomography (R.T.(CT)(ARRT));
Venipuncture certification or course completion;
BART or BLS at time of hire with plan to obtain BART within six months;
Less than three years of experience in a similar role or a new graduate (CT Tech) OR more than three years (Sr. CT Tech);
Knowledge of radiological computerized systems (PACS, RIS) and related applications;
Ability to perform duties effectively and collaboratively in a clinical setting.
Preferred Qualifications
CRT-F (Fluoroscopy);
Two years of CT experience in an acute care hospital;
Experience in a Level I trauma center;
Familiarity with imaging protocols at a comprehensive stroke center;
Experience with advanced CT technology and post-processing in emergency/critical care imaging.
Schedule, Location, and Compensation Work Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts or combination of 11/12-hour shifts; discuss during interview.

Worksite: Various UC San Diego Health locations (La Jolla, Hillcrest, East Campus) with potential for site float based on needs.

Hiring Pay Scale: $56.86 - $75.84 per hour; CT Tech salary range $56.86 - $65.34; CT Tech Sr salary range $61.03 - $75.84.
Sign-On Bonus: $5,000 (limited time; external candidates not employed at UC in the past 12 months).
