The University of Kentucky is currently seeking a faculty member to provide inpatient care services in the Pediatric Neonatology Intensive Unit. This position will primarily direct patient care for admitted patients, write daily progress notes, submit clinical charges, and oversee fellows, residents, neonatal nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and ancillary staff in providing care. This position will participate in night and weekend on-call coverage as assigned by the clinical division chief, and provide individual teaching to pediatric residents and other health care professionals involved in the care of patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. In addition, the role will attend regional, national, and/or international scientific meetings and serve on Children’s Hospital and College of Medicine committees as needed. The Kentucky Children’s Hospital has Eastern and Central Kentucky’s only Level I pediatric trauma center, Level IV newborn (neonatal) intensive care unit and pediatric intensive care unit. The NICU is a 66-bed unit providing Level IV and intermediate care for the newborn. It provides a neonatal transport team and serves as a regional neonatal transport center for Eastern and Central Kentucky. Our NICU is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to provide high-level care, including infant therapy and high-frequency ventilation for preemies with breathing disorders.
