Overview
DVSC - Dallas, TX is seeking an Advanced Surgery Veterinary Technician who will thrive in a team-focused atmosphere and deliver top-tier patient care while providing exceptional client service. DVSC specializes in orthopedic, soft tissue, minimally invasive, and neurosurgery for companion animals, and has supported veterinarians in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for over 30 years. Responsibilities
Administer medications and monitor patients during surgical procedures, including pre- and post-operative care and anesthesia recovery. Support outpatient appointment care for surgeons, including consultations and rechecks. Perform IV, IM, and subcutaneous injections, IV catheter placements, and advanced skills (arterial catheter placement, epidural administration, splinting). Conduct radiographs and other advanced imaging as needed. Assist with all types of surgery, anesthesia, and related procedures. Support the surgical team by setting up and turning over Operating Rooms, preparing exam rooms and instruments, and maintaining daily safety and cleanliness. Communicate with clients about financial estimates and payments; collaborate with other departments as needed. Perform other duties as required. About You / Qualifications
Licensed Veterinary Technician or experienced Veterinary Assistant focused on client service and patient care. Commitment to a positive, respectful hospital culture and enjoyment of working with a team that shares these values. Initiative and strong work ethic; contribute to hospital operations and daily duties. Versatile with the ability to adapt to individual patient needs and make a difference for pets and their families. Clinical skills include: safe patient restraint, exceptional client service, phlebotomy and catheter placement, radiology safety and technique, post-op monitoring and care, knowledge of common veterinary medications, and individualized nursing care.
