Compensation & Schedule

Compensation: $21-$25 hourly, based on experience

Schedule: Full Time

4x10 hour shifts per week

Monday - Friday

7:15am-5:30pm

Occasional on-call duties required

About the Role Our Surgery Technicians are vital members of our veterinary team, applying their expertise with a high degree of autonomy. They skillfully calculate and administer induction medications, monitor anesthesia for patient safety, and provide attentive postoperative care. Additionally, they ensure the highest standards of surgical hygiene by cleaning, sterilizing, and organizing instruments. Through collaboration with veterinarians and ongoing training, they continually expand their skills in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Essential Functions

Administers medication and manages/monitors patients during surgical procedures—including pre and post op care and anesthesia recovery.

Facilitates patient care of outpatient appointments for surgeons—consults and rechecks.

Performs IV, IM and SubQ injections, IV catheter placements and advanced veterinary technician skills (arterial catheter placement, epidural administration, splint placements).

Performs radiographs and other advanced imaging

Assists with all types of surgery, anesthesia, and other procedures as needed.

Participate in surgery team responsibilities that facilitate efficient patient care: setting up and turning over Operating Rooms, preparing exam rooms and instruments, completing daily safety and cleaning duties.

Communicates with clients, including financial estimates and collecting payment.

Interfaces with and assists other departments within the hospital as needed.

Other duties as needed.

About You

You are a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant dedicated to outstanding client service and excellent patient care.

You are dedicated to maintaining a positive, respectful, uplifting hospital culture and genuinely love working with people that share that value.

Take the initiative – you are a hard worker who contributes to the operation of the entire hospital, you will help get all the day’s duties done!

You are versatile – you know how to effectively adapt to the individual needs of each patient and are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of patients and their families.

You possess clinical skills and experience that include (but are not limited to):

Safe patient restraint

Excellent client service

Phlebotomy and catheter placement

Knowledge of radiology safety and proper technique

Proficient in post-op monitoring and care of surgical patients

Solid foundation of knowledge of common veterinary medications

Individualized, patient-focused nursing
