in Perry, FL. Nammo Energetics Inc. (NEI) is a division of Nammo Group establishing a solid rocket motor manufacturing facility in Perry, Florida adjacent to the Nammo Perry Inc. facility. NEI will oversee the design, construction, qualification, and staffing for the facility with initial production targeted for 2027. The Electrical Controls Engineer will develop and maintain control systems that support the production and testing of munitions. The role will collaborate with design, process, quality, and maintenance engineering groups to ensure systems that manufacture and test products meet technical requirements. Responsibilities

Design and develop new control systems including PLC/HMI programming and VFD programming, and produce the appropriate schematics. Coordinate equipment purchasing for the new rocket motor facility. Transition and commission new equipment to the new rocket motor facility. Assist with design, development, and layout of electrical panels for new and existing equipment, including specifying components and ensuring safety and electrical compliance. Document all new and existing equipment panel layouts and electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical 2024. Perform arc-flash hazard analysis / calculations. Design and specify electrical panels and components that meet hazardous location wiring codes. Identify and implement solutions to PLC control logic to improve safety, quality, production, and cost. Ensure equipment installation and maintenance conformance with current codes and regulations. Recommend improvements to new and existing equipment to optimize production and determine corrective actions. Serve as primary point of contact for all controls troubleshooting. Determine preventive maintenance actions and provide supporting documentation to maintenance. Collaborate with maintenance and operational groups on preventive maintenance, machine repair, predictive maintenance, equipment performance, and design improvements. Maintain good employee relations and adhere to the Affirmative Action Plan, labor laws and EEOC rules and regulations. Adhere to Company policies and procedures, safety and environmental standards, and maintain good housekeeping practices. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge And Skills / Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Controls and/or Electrical) or equivalent combination of education and 5 years of work experience. At least 3 years of manufacturing experience providing technical support to semi-automated and manual processes. Knowledge and working proficiency with Siemens PLC S7-1500 with WinCC Advanced Runtime, SIMATIC Step 7 Professional TIA Portal V20, SIMATIC Step 7 Safety Advanced V20, SIMATIC Sinamics Startdrive Advanced V20, SIMATIC WinCC Advanced V20, and SIMATIC WinCC Runtime Advanced V20 or similar Siemens platforms. Familiarity with Emerson PAC Machine Edition Version 10 and Prolficy Machine Edition Version 9. Strong understanding of control and electrical system design for automated industrial environments, including vision, power, sensor, inspection, and communications systems. Ability to work with AutoCAD Electrical Version 2014. Familiarity with Cognex vision cameras. Proficiency with MS Office Suite. Ability to create and troubleshoot PLC/HMI code and electrical/pneumatic schematics. Ability to program and troubleshoot VFDs, servo actuators, and robots. Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings and balance multiple projects. Familiarity with SPC and Process Safety Management (PSM) concepts. Self-starter with ability to work independently and meet deadlines; good written and verbal communication skills. Physical Requirements And Work Environment

Must submit to and pass a drug test as part of the Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy (including random testing). Good vision (may be corrected). Ability to communicate in writing and verbally. Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods. Willingness to travel. Stamina to work beyond the scheduled workday when needed, including nights and weekends. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
