Lead Geotechnical Engineer
to join our Louisville, KY team. The role involves business development, project management within our Earth & Environment Team, and delivering projects in mining, dams, transportation, water resources, and civil works. The successful candidate will contribute to our geotechnical practice's growth and provide technical leadership for projects serving public and private clients. Key Responsibilities Conduct geotechnical investigations and laboratory testing for projects including site investigations, dam inspections, and civil works. Perform geotechnical analyses such as foundation design, slope stability, seepage, and settlement analysis. Support construction phases with geotechnical expertise. Apply advanced geotechnical techniques across project phases, from concept to operation. Lead investigations and inspections, including subsurface investigations, soil engineering, erosion, geological hazards, and water issues. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and visualizations. Assist in project scoping and development. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and infrastructure authorities. Adhere to ethical standards and company policies. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications BSc in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering. 7-10 years of relevant experience, especially in foundations, dams, levees, and transportation infrastructure. Licensed Civil Engineer in Kentucky or able to obtain PE license within 12 months. Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering and related disciplines. Effective communication skills. Experience with geotechnical software (e.g., Ensoft, Bentley GeoStudio, RocScience). Ability to learn new techniques, work independently, and follow policies. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications MS or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or related field. Willingness to travel for field work. Active participation in professional organizations.
