Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has an exciting position available for an entry‑level civil/geotechnical engineer to work in our water resources team.

Responsibilities

Assisting with analyzing and designing new and renovated water retaining structures including, but not limited to, embankment dams and levees

Designing sheet pile and foundations

Performing stability, seepage, and settlement modeling of embankment dams and levees

Performing field observations and construction inspection (some travel will be required) for dams and levees

Preparing reports and design computations

Developing plans, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil or geotechnical engineering from an accredited college or university or be able to obtain degree within nine months of hire date

Ideal Candidate Skills

Coursework including slope stability, seepage analysis, and foundation design

Software programs including Microsoft Excel, Rocscience, GeoStudio, or UTEXAS

Subsurface investigations

Soils laboratory testing

Construction inspection

Construction materials testing

A master's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering

EIT certification
