Overview

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Virginia invites applications for a full-time Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology certified Pathologist with specialty interest in liver/transplant liver pathology. This is an open rank, tenure optional position. The successful candidate will participate in native and transplant liver sign-out. Applicants must have subspecialty fellowship training or experiential expertise in liver pathology. Willingness to participate in GI pathology sign-out, general surgical pathology sign-out or autopsy service is preferred. The position includes teaching of medical students, residents and fellows and scholarly activity is expected. Additionally, the qualified candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work as a team member. Sign-out of native and transplant liver pathology cases as part of anatomic pathology service. Take part in GI pathology sign-out, general surgical pathology sign-out, and autopsy service as welcome or required. Engage in teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows and participate in scholarly activities. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to clinical care, education, quality improvement, and administration as appropriate. Qualifications

Board-certified in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology. Subspecialty fellowship training or experiential expertise in liver pathology. Willingness to participate in additional sign-out services (GI pathology, general surgical pathology, autopsy) is preferred.
