The general pay scale for this position at MOH is $69,074.45 - $106,268.38 per year. The actual hiring rate is dependent on factors including but not limited to prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc. Responsibilities
Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient/family needs and to promote continuity of care. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history; collect and record nursing assessments and interventions. Review and report results of health status assessment, physical examinations, pertinent labs, radiographic data, and psychosocial assessment to the provider. Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional materials; provide psychosocial support; maintain patient confidentiality. Prepare and administer therapies under physician direction; ensure pre-authorization and consent forms are obtained where applicable. Facilitate dose modification by assessing the patient and labs, reviewing the protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting with the physician for adjustments and symptom management. Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments; apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture. Maintain work environment: restock supplies; follow OSHA guidelines for cytotoxic agents and biohazardous waste; maintain disinfection protocols; maintain equipment per quality control standards. Facilitate clinical operations and patient care: manage medication refill requests, assist physicians with exams and procedures, maintain patient flow, coordinate consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments; triage patient calls and document in charts; facilitate communication among patient/family and interdisciplinary team; assist patients in locating community resources. Interprofessional collaboration: assist and collaborate with clinical research; act as a resource to LPNs/LVNs and medical assistants; provide nursing coverage for satellite offices as needed; mentor/preceptor and provide day-to-day guidance to less experienced nurses; participate in professional development and maintain current oncology nursing knowledge. Infusion RN: prepare and administer therapies under physician direction; program portable infusion pumps and instruct patients/caregivers on pump use at home; demonstrate ambulatory pump use, maintenance, cleaning, and documentation. Qualifications
Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities): Education/Training – Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing; BSN preferred. RN license and current registration in practicing state; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; maintain continuing education requirements. Business Experience – 3-5 years nursing experience, with at least one year in oncology preferred. Specialized Knowledge/Skills – Oncology certification preferred. Working Conditions
