The general pay scale for this position at MOH is $69,074.45 - $106,268.38 per year. The actual hiring rate depends on factors such as prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, and performance.
Responsibilities
Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care in alignment with established standards and practices.
Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history; document nursing assessments and interventions.
Review and report health status assessments, physical examinations, laboratory data, radiographic data, and psychosocial assessments to the provider.
Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional materials; provide psychosocial support to patients and families; maintain patient confidentiality.
Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician; administer medications and blood products with correct procedures and documentation.
Ensure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration where applicable; facilitate dose modification as needed with physician consultation.
Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central lines; maintain accurate documentation of care and treatments; apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Maintain work environment, restock supplies, follow safety and disinfection protocols, and maintain equipment per quality control standards.
Facilitate clinical operations and patient care, including managing medication refill requests, assisting physicians, coordinating appointments, triaging calls, and facilitating communication among the interdisciplinary team.
Assist patients in locating community resources and collaborate with clinical research; mentor/preceptor roles and coverage for satellite offices as needed.
Participate in professional development and maintain current knowledge of oncology nursing through ongoing education.
Infusion RN responsibilities include preparing and administering therapies under physician direction; operating ambulatory infusion pumps and instructing patients/caregivers in pump use.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
RN license and current registration in practicing state; BLS certification required; continuing education required.
3-5 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in oncology preferred; oncology certification preferred.
Additional qualifications related to chemotherapy/ Immunotherapy provider card preferred.
Working Conditions
The work environment may involve exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic. Requires full range of motion, standing/walking for extended periods, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
