Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician Night shift • Full-time • Core Lab Join us in OhioHealth’s Core Laboratory as a Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician. The duties include accurate, precise, and timely patient test results for the diagnosis and management of human illness. The position utilizes automation, computerization, and manual methods, with responsibilities for quality control, instrument operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Specimens may include blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, spinal fluid and other body fluids. Specimens may be contaminated with infectious diseases including HIV and other blood-borne pathogens. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree (Required); ASCP certification or equivalent; eligible for AMT consideration; experience in an automated clinical laboratory is preferred. Work Shift: Night • Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 • Department: Core Lab Responsibilities and Duties

Perform complex analysis of body fluids and tissues; determine reliability of analytic data; interpret information to make judgmental decisions; troubleshoot procedures and instruments; Utilize knowledge of clinical correlations of data, laboratory parameters, physiologic factors, medication effects, and treatments to assess data validity; Assess testing methodologies and practices for new testing; demonstrate safety and infection control practices; mentor new lab associates and students; Customer service to clinicians and clients; communicate professionally with physician staff, clinical staff, laboratory associates, patients, and families; use service recovery when necessary; Perform quality assurance checks on procedures, equipment, reagents, stains, etc.; document and interpret QC data; review maintenance logs to ensure optimum system performance and valid results; Remain current in the field; participate in Continuing Education and Competencies; train new employees and students; maintain mandatory education Requirements (ACE); perform miscellaneous duties as assigned; Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (Required) ASCP certification or equivalent (AMT certification considered equivalent to ASCP) Experience in an automated clinical laboratory preferred Strong customer service skills; superior communication abilities with clinicians, patients, and laboratory staff Benefits and Additional Information
