Overview
Works under the supervision of the Rehabilitation Supervisor and Rehabilitation Services Manager. The staff physical therapist plans and implements treatment programs for individual patients according to the physician’s referral and the principles and practices of physical therapy, collaborating with the interdisciplinary treatment team. Primary Responsibilities
Provides physical therapy services in inpatient and outpatient settings during assigned shift, including rotation of weekend and holiday coverage. Evaluates patients with physician’s referral, develops treatment plans and goals, administers procedures and modalities appropriate to the patient’s age and learning needs, and plans for discharge using appropriate physical therapy techniques. Acts as a rehab case manager for assigned patients. Prepares and maintains accurate and current patient records in accordance with departmental policies. Re-evaluates and revises the patient’s treatment plan regularly, with physician approval as necessary. Provides patient and family/caregiver instruction regarding therapy procedures and home programs, and instruction for use of assistive/adaptive equipment. Communicates with rehabilitation team members, family, physicians and third-party payers regarding patient progress and program changes as appropriate. Participates in in-services, meetings, and program development; may participate on committees or with student interns/volunteers as appropriate. Provides supervision to the physical therapist assistant; maintains clean, safe, and orderly treatment areas and equipment; reports safety concerns to supervisor. Assists with orientation and supervision of other health care professionals as appropriate. Establishes and maintains effective communication with physicians, co-workers, patients and hospital personnel. Engages in professional growth through educational programs, in-service meetings, and workshops within assigned specialty areas. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education: Minimum bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent. Licensure/Certifications: Current California license in Physical Therapy required. Physical Therapy License Applicant may be considered. Current AHA or equivalent BLS certification and all other annual requirements of System and department (TB, Safety, etc.). Experience: One year of experience in an acute hospital or outpatient clinic preferred; new graduates may be considered. Skills: Clinical skills in physical therapy evaluation and treatment for a wide range of physical disabilities; ability to serve Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric populations; knowledge of laws and regulations governing practice. Hourly Salary Range: Min $60.97 – Max $77.07 (rate based on years of experience) Per diem differential: 10% included in salary range About Us
