Operations Manager Position Overview

The Material Manager is responsible for inventory management, ensuring adequate stock levels to meet production demands while minimizing excess inventory. Negotiate various contracts, evaluating vendors and maintaining strong supplier relationships. Forecasting material needs and ensuring timely purchasing to avoid production delays. Manage budgets and optimize purchasing strategies to reduce costs. Ensure materials meet company standards and address any supply chain issues. Coordinate effective and efficient production planning to meet monthly/annual production plan. Provide safety leadership to direct reports ensuring compliance with OSHA standards. Responsibilities

Ensure adequate raw material, work in process and finish goods inventory to prevent shortage or excess inventories Negotiate contracts, evaluate vendors and maintain strong supplier relationships Manage and oversee all facets of daily production scheduling for efficient planning while minimizing interruptions Manage the transportation and scheduling of materials to align with customer and production needs Analyze market trends to reduce expenses while maintaining efficiency Supervise and mentor direct reports for efficient planning Implement and support site safety initiatives for compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations Maintain accurate SAP record keeping and address deviations Manage internal warehouses and inventory of all work in process, raw materials and finished goods for accurate inventory; manage annual physical inventory Manage all aspects of ISO Standard and JSox for compliance Required Experience and Education

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (OR) Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will also be considered Supply Chain Management, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification Experience in production planning, procurement, inventory and logistics of work in process, raw materials and finished goods—through use of SAP Ability to manage production schedules to ensure consistent production flow, cost efficiency and compliance with safety and environmental standards Proficient in SAP and inventory management software Familiarity with DOT standards Understanding of Risk Management - identifying vulnerabilities and creating contingency plans Cost analysis - tracking and controlling supply chain cost and addressing variances
