Overview

Youth Navigator (Engagement and Partnerships) in New York, NY. Location: Lincoln Square and Upper Westside Communities. Schedule: 35+ hours per week; base schedule 1pm to 9pm Monday to Friday and rotating Saturdays 11:30 to 4:30. Salary Range: $41,500 - $50,000 per year. Program description: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Center (Isaacs Center) are Manhattan-based organizations serving children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults. Pathways for Youth supports young adults up to age 24 by providing coaching and life navigation over multiple years. Position Summary

The Youth Navigator delivers direct developmental services to youth in the Lincoln Square and Upper Westside communities. The role focuses on intensive outreach and engagement of hard-to-serve youth aged 14 to 25 to help them become self-sustaining adults by age 25, using a primary person model for ongoing engagement. Responsibilities

Outreach and Engagement: regular canvassing and outreach in the target area; build trusted relationships with young people; participate in community events and resident meetings; develop and execute activities that engage youth; document encounters and plan ongoing connections. Goal-setting, Coaching, and Navigating: work with youth to understand challenges, create goals and milestones, provide supports and resources, and coach toward SMART goals; lead small group sessions and build a comprehensive resource network; support family connections and life skills development; provide information, referrals, and follow-up; mentor a core group of approximately 30 youth. Crisis Response: respond to emergencies with guidance from supervisor; recognize crises and take steps to avert them; build a crisis-management network; assist with program evaluation. Other duties: participate in mandatory and voluntary trainings and contribute to program activities as required. Qualifications

High School Equivalency or diploma preferred Experience working in diverse and challenged communities and with urban youth Familiarity with public housing developments and conditions, especially Amsterdam Houses and Amsterdam Addition Ability to engage respectfully with young adults, foster personal accountability, and maintain confidentiality Patience, reliability, consistency, and ability to handle ambiguity and stress Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; bilingual Spanish preferred but not required Computer Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook); able to learn other databases, programs, and funder-related software as needed Physical Requirements
