Youth Navigator (Engagement and Partnerships)

— Goddard Riverside Community Center and Isaacs Center (Pathways for Youth). Location: Lincoln Square, New York, NY. Position Type: Full-Time. Salary Range: $41,500 - $50,000 per year. Program Description: The Goddard Riverside Community Center and the Stanley M. Isaacs Center are leading Manhattan human services organizations serving children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults. Pathways for Youth supports young adults up to age 24 with coaching and life planning to become self-sustaining by age 25. Position Summary

The Youth Navigator delivers direct and comprehensive developmental services to youth in the Lincoln Square and Upper West Side communities. This role engages hard-to-serve youth ages 14 to 25 through intensive outreach and engagement, operating under a primary person model. Schedule

35+ hours per week; base schedule 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with rotating Saturdays 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties

Outreach and engagement in the target area Regular canvassing and outreach to identify and connect with youth Build trusting relationships with young people on their terms and in their environments to guide them toward meaningful pathways Participate in community events and meetings to identify and engage youth Develop and execute activities and community events that create engagement opportunities Document encounters and develop detailed plans for maintaining connections with youth In partnership with leadership, develop a strategic plan for ongoing outreach Collaborate with individual young people to understand challenges, barriers, hopes, and dreams; support goal-setting and navigation Provide necessary supports and resources to reduce barriers to success Lead small group sessions for mutual aid, peer support, and relevant topics Build a comprehensive resource network to support youth and families Help strengthen family supports and youth life skills, including tangible skills and networks of access Provide information, referrals, and follow-up Serve as a caring mentor to a core group of youth (goal: mentor a core group of 30) Document interactions and progress Crisis Response: respond to emergencies as needed with supervisor guidance; anticipate crises and mitigate where possible Collaborate with senior management to support program evaluation Performs other duties including mandatory and voluntary trainings Qualifications / Educational Requirements

High School Equivalency or diploma preferred Experience working in diverse and challenging communities Experience working with urban youth Familiarity with public housing developments and conditions of life in public housing (Amsterdam Houses and Amsterdam Addition) Ability to love and respect young adults while fostering accountability Patience, reliability, and ability to provide a consistent and caring presence Tolerance for ambiguity and stress; ability to persist through challenges Confidentiality and ability to engage in self-reflection Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Bi-lingual Spanish preferred but not required Computer Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook; ability to use or learn other databases, programs, and funder-related software as needed Physical Requirements
