Lead the development and execution of category management strategies for Global Procurement to achieve long-term goals and short-term business plans. Manage the development and delivery of value from the supply base to mitigate risk, reduce cost, and reduce working capital to meet and exceed business and customer expectations. Oversee a spend of $200-400 million consisting of materials, services, or secondary manufacturing equipment to produce the finished product, with opportunities for global leverage in certain product categories. Apply technical understanding of category dynamics to enhance value from the supply base. Regularly engage with department management and professional contributors, interact with mid-level leadership, and intermittently with senior leaders to develop and apply a multi-year strategy aligned to market conditions and organizational requirements. Independently lead projects, guiding stakeholders using project management principles to meet timelines and deliverables. Converse with internal technical resources and suppliers on product attributes and recommend value-delivering solutions. Engage global stakeholders to evaluate cross-region opportunities, build relationships with global peers, lead or coordinate global initiatives, and share best practices across regions. Represent the organization in negotiations, establish negotiation strategy and objectives, and respond to various tactics. Identify and analyze risk in all expenditures within the category and implement risk management strategies to ensure continuity of supply. Identify, forecast, and execute cost-out opportunities and working capital improvements using a multi-year strategy. Understand current supply base, market trends, and competitive landscape to formulate strategies across commodities within the assigned category. Develop industry-wide networks and internal category expertise; build supplier relationships to drive value. Utilize Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to deliver innovation and competitive advantage. Leverage internal and external expertise on technical, regulatory, geographic, and commercial aspects of the industry. Understand cost drivers and market trends to achieve the lowest Total Cost of Ownership. Guide stakeholders through multi-level negotiations, including legal and commercial terms, and performance expectations. Negotiate contract language and coordinate with leadership/Legal to ensure agreements with key suppliers. Apply a multi-step strategic sourcing process from planning through execution and monitoring. Make decisions aligned with company objectives, competitive strategy, and governance processes. Forecast and provide value-added insights to anticipate outcomes in business strategies. Collaborate with stakeholders early to gain buy-in and support, helping others overcome resistance to change. Build organizational capability in Procurement, including leadership development of Category Specialists. Develop market intelligence on global markets and suppliers, including supply/demand dynamics, costs, and industry benchmarks. The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $112,800 to $141,000; base pay may vary within the range up to $169,200 depending on knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay is based on national averages; geographic differential may apply. Position may be eligible for Amcor\'s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, medical coverage, and other health and welfare benefits. Benefits
