Job Overview Child Protective Specialist Supervisor – Quality Assurance (Level II), Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), New York City. Salary range $100,050–$121,290.

Responsibilities

Conduct ongoing case reviews of open investigations, analyze child welfare case best practices across the Division, and provide coaching to frontline staff to support client safety.

Assess validity of allegations, develop and monitor safety/service plans, and coordinate with relevant units (PD/FSU, OSI) to ensure continuity of care.

Utilize in‑house databases and record‑keeping tools (ASAP, case management system) to justify program actions, maintain accurate case files, and draft narrative reports following agency format.

Participate in policy and procedure development, draft manuals, and contribute to quality‑assurance measures including field visits, performance reviews, and data analysis.

Represent the unit in training sessions, meetings, and the ACS Collaborative Quality Improvement (CoQI) cross‑divisional team; may travel citywide to support Child Protective Manager in meetings.

Support special projects as assigned by senior leadership, including hiring pool participation, policy & training initiatives, and other executive‑directed needs.

Qualifications

Baccalaureate degree in social work or a related discipline, with at least 30 semester credits toward a Master’s in Social Work or equivalent graduate degree; 18 months of child protective casework experience.

Master of Social Work degree or master’s degree in a related field.

Excellent communication skills, knowledge of the NY State Connections comprehensive case‑management system, and familiarity with automated child welfare systems.

Experience working with NYC’s diverse communities and ability to step into an existing unit and assume full responsibility quickly.

Bilingual ability in Spanish or other languages is considered a plus.
